THERE were celebrations all round at Ysgol Aberconwy this morning as students celebrated another year of GCSE exam success.
The school saw strong performances across an extensive range of academic and vocational subjects, with many securing higher-grade passes.
Some notable performances included:
- Abby Cattell (7 A*s and 5 As)
- Shania Owen (7 A*s and 5 As)
- Angharad Brookes (5 A*s and 4 As)
- Abbey Lee (4 A*s and 7 As)
- Artur Kumpanenko (5 A*s across Science and Maths)

Headteacher Ian Gerrard said he was delighted with the school’s continued success.
He added: “These results are a fantastic achievement and reflect the hard work and dedication of our students, parents and staff.
“I am once again pleased that together we have ensured that all our students have done themselves proud.”
The school is looking forward to record numbers of students returning to continue their education at Ysgol Aberconwy’s sixth form in September.
Deputy headteacher Gaynor Murphy congratulated students and staff, adding: “We’re delighted with the outstanding achievements of our students.
“We wish them well for their next stages in education and employment and look forward to working with so many of them in September.”
