A LLANDUDNO bed and breakfast that suffered “structural damage” is set to undergo a makeover.

Promenâd Bed and Breakfast, at 9 Mostyn Crescent, submitted plans to repaint the façade and boundary walls of the Grade II listed building it occupies.

The building falls within Llandudno’s conservation area - development proposals within these areas must respect their special character, and are often limited by how much they can be altered.

The façade of the family-owned bed and breakfast was last painted in 2016 by the previous owners, but the application to upgrade this has now been approved by the council.

The applicant, David Banks of Clavid Limited, said in the application that the current paintwork was “flaking”, which was “allowing water to seep into the render causing damage to the structural integrity of the property”.

The colour of the building will change from a magnolia-like one to marble grey, with white areas of the façade to remain white.

The applicant said that the work would “highlight the property and provide just enough colour to add depth and character to the building”.

They have also consulted with neighbours, who have raised no objections.
