A TEENAGE boy from Anglesey who was charged with arson in connection with a fire at Colwyn Bay Cricket Club last year has been found not guilty.
The 14-year-old, who cannot be named, had the charged against him dismissed at Llandudno Magistrates’ Court on July 27.
Police and fire crews were called to the incident in question just after midnight on May 20, 2022; the fire caused 100 per cent damage to a building to the rear of the cricket club, on Penrhyn Avenue.
A total of £209.78 of damage was caused by the fire.
The boy pleaded not guilty to arson on May 16, and the charge was dismissed last week after the prosecution offered no evidence.

Two boys aged 13, from Rhos-on-Sea and Llandudno, have also been charged with arson in relation to the same incident.
Their cases remain ongoing.
Both boys have also been charged with attempted burglary, having been accused of attempting to steal from a newsagents in Rhos-on-Sea on May 19, 2022.
The boy from Llandudno also has a third charge against him, of burglary other than dwelling (theft), having been accused of stealing two packets of crisps from a pub in Rhos-on-Sea on May 19, 2022.
