PARISELLA’S ice cream have fended off more than 60 rivals to secure the tenancy of a popular kiosk on Colwyn Bay promenade.
The Conwy-based firm won a presentation and tendering process made up of 64 applicants to take over the Horizon Shine Kiosk.
The kiosk was built five years ago, after Colwyn Bay’s extensive waterfront project saw the promenade raised along more than three miles of coastline.
Horizon Shine was emptied of its equipment earlier this week, and former tenant Tracy Mansfield thanked customers in a social media post.

“We would like to thank all our customers for the support over the last five years,” she said.
“We have decided to retire - we wish the Parisella family good wishes for the future and the continued success of Colwyn Bay beach.”
Parisella’s aims to make the most of the summer season, and will offer hot and cold snacks, drinks, and its award-winning ice creams.
Under the new tenants, the kiosk will also provide vegan and dairy free options of cakes and foods and aim to open seven days a week all year round.
Parisella’s will be applying for a premise licence to continue to sell alcohol.
The business already operates kiosks in Conwy and Llandudno’s Happy Valley, and its reputation likely helped it defeat the 63 other candidates.
Director Carrie Parisella said: “[I’m] pleased to say we were successful.
“We are waiting on the keys from the council so solicitors are finalising paperwork, so all being well we hope to get the keys today (June 30) and move in next week and open at some point next week.”
