A FARMER is hoping Conwy Council will allow three glamping pods to remain.
Mr Bryn Williams has applied for retrospective planning permission for three glamping pods at land at Bodrochwyn Fawr on Bodrochwyn Road, Moelfre, Llanfairtalhaiarn.
Mr Williams put up two of the pods in 2017 and the third in 2022 but has now submitted a retrospective planning application to Conwy’s planning department.
The developer says he will shelter the site with a small number of trees and shrubs from the nearby highway.
In a planning statement, Mr Williams’ agent said the pods were ‘high-quality’.

“The applicants provide three high-quality glamping pods in a sheltered and screened location,” the statement reads.
“Each pod accommodates two adults, and parking is available on site. The site maintains a low-carbon footprint. The pods are relatively modest due to their small scale, form, and choice of materials and muted colours.
“The site creates a small high-quality tourist accommodation that is focused on providing high-quality accommodation in a high-quality setting.
“The sole purpose of the pods is to create an additional income to support the existing farming business at Bodrochwyn Fawr, and these pods will cater for the growing glamping market in the area.
“The high-quality spec of the pods and spectacular views from the site means that these pods are pitched at the high-end of the glamping market.
“The site is pitched at accommodating those seeking rural holidays as well as those looking for holidays set within an easy reach of the routes and local attractions in the area.”
The pods are marketed at £53 per night and targeted at walkers, cyclists, and couples.
The planning application will be discussed at a future planning committee meeting.
