THE SITE of a bar and café in Llandudno that closed earlier this year has been sold at auction.
Fountains Bar and Café, on Upper Mostyn Street, shut after hosting a New Year’s party on December 31.
The popular bar had its alcohol licence ‘surrendered’, with the sudden closure marked by a repossession notice posted on the front door and sheeting placed across the windows.

The building is on a lease for 2,000 years from December 1907, and was set a guide price between £200,000 and £250,000 before going to auction with All Wales Auction on May 4.
The site sold for almost double this at a final price of £453,000, according to estate agent St David’s Commercial.
Several details about the deal have not yet been made public, and it is not known who has completed the purchase or what they intend to do with it.
