WORK to upgrade coastal defences and infrastructure in Rhos-on-Sea is nearing completion, after the beach reopened a month ago.
With one million tonnes of imported sand, the beach fully reopened on April 6.
20,000 tonnes of rock has been reclaimed and recycled to add into the higher, wider fish tail groyne, and the seawall has been repaired and repointed.

Three surface water outlets have been extended 160m further towards the sea, with 1870m of cable ducts installed, with the coastline now having infrastructure for electric vehicle charging points.
Kerbs, footpaths and highway drainage are still being installed on the promenade, with council contractors yet to pave slabs.
Contractors will also install street furniture, play equipment and exercise equipment, as well as 55 new street lights.
