A "SUITABLE contractor" has been found to install anti-slip coasting across paddling pools in Craig y Don, Llanfairfechan, Penmaenmawr and Rhos on Sea.
Conwy County Borough Council came under fire last month after saying it would not be re-opening the four pools as normal this May and for claiming the "only UK provider" was unable to carry out work [to apply a specialist anti-slip coating to surfaces] due to sudden ill health.
Pressure was put upon the council to find a solution but now Janet Finch-Saunders, MS for Aberconwy, says that Conwy County Borough Council (CCBC) has informed her that a "suitable contractor" has been found to resolve the situation.
Ms Finch-Saunders said: "I want to thank every single person that showed their support to our campaign to see the pools re-opened.
“Whilst the local authority stated that there is only one UK provider and installer, as a community we made clear that we did not believe the claim for a single second.
“I am pleased that Conwy County Borough Council have listened, and gone forward to find a suitable contractor.
“I look forward to receiving dates for when the works will be undertaken in each of the pools in Aberconwy.”

The council made the decision not to open its paddling pools following a full safety audit of all sites. Some areas were deemed as "a high slip risk".
Mr Millar slammed the decision and said a "simple internet search seems to suggest that there are many firms offering a solution to these sorts of problems."
Mr Millar has also received correspondence from the council confirming that a contractor to install a coating to the pools has been secured.
He said on Tuesday, May 9: "I am delighted that a new contractor has been found and that the council have requested that the works are carried out as soon as possible.
"People were outraged when they were told that these popular paddling pools would not be reopened this summer, so I am pleased that the council have listened to our calls and managed to find a contractor to carry out the works and that families will be able to enjoy these free facilities once again this year.”
Cllr Jo Nutall, of Rhos on Sea ward, said: "This is fantastic news. Keeping these paddling pools closed this summer would have been devastating for the great many families who use them.
“It is incredible what the council can do when put under pressure. I hope the works are carried out quickly as promised and I look forward to a date being given for their reopening.”
