A FORMER Colwyn Bay Rugby Club player is living the dream after signing with English Premiership side Sale Sharks.
Wills Austin, who played for the club as a junior, has secured a senior bursary contract to join the team ahead of the 2023/24 season while he completes university studies.
The versatile forward is one of nine full-time inductees to the Sharks’ senior academy.

Sale Sharks academy manager Fergus Mulchrone said: “It’s another statement of intent from the club that they are willing to invest and back the great Northern talent coming through the pathway.
“This is an exciting group of players that have stood out in their respective schools, clubs and academies over the last few years, a testament to their teachers and rugby coaches in all environments.”
A Colwyn Bay Rugby Club spokesperson said: “A massive congratulations to ex CBRFC player Wills Austin who has been provided with a senior bursary contract to join Sale Sharks ahead of the 2023/24 season.
“Congratulations from everyone at CBRFC.”
Greater Manchester-based Sale Sharks currently sit second in the Gallagher Premiership – let’s hope Wills can propel them to success in the future.
