THREE choral societies in North Wales are coming together to perform Sea Symphony, the first symphony written by Ralph Vaughan Williams.
The choirs, being led by Trystan Lewis and accompained by North Wales Orchestra, include Mold and District Choral Society, Cor Cymysg, Dyffryn Conwy and St Asaph Choral Society.
Sea Symphony was written between 1903 and 1909 and was the first symphony to use a chorus as an integral part throughout.
The performance will take place at St Asaph Cathedral on Saturday, May 13 at 7.30pm.
Anne Spiller, chair of the committee at St Asaph Choral Society, said: "[We are] in an age when Choral Societies all over the country are really struggling to keep performing.
"The Sea Symphony text is taken from Walt Whitman’s Leaves of Grass.
