PADDLING pools in Craig y Don, Llanfairfechan, Penmaenmawr and Rhos on Sea will not be re-opening this summer.
The paddling pools normally open in May.
Conwy County Borough Council recently carried out a full safety audit of all sites. Those audits found that some areas are a high slip risk.
A spokesperson from the local authority said: "In response to the safety survey results, we planned to carry out some work to apply a specialist anti-slip coating to the surfaces, but unfortunately the only UK provider and installer is now unable to carry out the work due to sudden ill health.
"We are urgently trying to find an alternative solution or training for another contractor to carry out this essential health and safety work."

Cllr Charlie McCoubrey, leader of Conwy County Borough Council, said “We know our paddling pools are hugely popular and we’re doing all we can to resolve the situation.
“We realise how disappointing this will be for people living in and visiting our beautiful county, but the safety of children and families using our paddling pools is our priority.”
Conwy Council is submitting funding applications to upgrade paddling pools across the county.
The spokesperson added: "We recognise what an important asset they are for our communities."
