Helen Denning, of Llandudno but originally from Ukraine, helped organise the event.

She said: “We are ever so grateful to everyone for joining us at our event in St Paul's Church. We had a lovely moving concert with excellent new performances.

“It was also good to see Sue Coleman from Antioch Church, who helps Ukrainians a lot.

“Special thanks to our creative director and violinist, Olha Piddubna-Moss, and to all the participants for their beautiful performances and dedication and to all the people who donated raffle prizes, baked cakes, and helped us to make this event very special.

“One gentleman won about six or eight prizes!”

Previously, five such events had been organised across Denbighshire and Conwy.

Money raised has been used to help fund the purchases of items such as medical supplies, a night vision device to assist in clearing Ukrainian territories of mines, and a car for a combat zone.
