PEOPLE flocked to the Conwy Seed Fair yesterday (March 27) for the town’s first tourist event of the year.
The 700-year-old Royal Charter event invites seeds, plants, and farmers’ markets stalls to showcase their produce, with some of the money going to charity.
This was the 31st year the current organisers had put the event on, and a collection from stakeholders was made for the Bees for Development initiative.
Event organiser and spokesperson Peter McFadden said: “We had a very successful day, with great weather.
“Crowds of visitors all day, good feedback from the town traders, Conwy's first tourist event of the year.
“Each year, we make a collection from stallholders, in aid of Bees for Development.
“We raised a record £800 yesterday, including £80 from the sale of snowdrop bulbs from my garden.
“Thanks to everybody who supported the event.”
