A “FAMILY fun day” in Colwyn Bay raised more than £500 in aid of numerous mental health charities.
This free event took place on Saturday, March 18, from 10.30am until 11.45pm, at the Legion social club on Coed Pella Road.
In total, £522.88 was raised, to be shared between the Rhyl and Conwy branches of the charity “Mind”, and Streetz, a Warrington-based organisation which supports disadvantaged young adults.
It featured live music, a raffle, soft play, arts and crafts, a talent show, and stalls from a number of Colwyn Bay-based businesses.

The event was organised by Tyler Booker, a 26-year-old chef who also re-opened one of Colwyn Bay’s oldest cafés, “Blod’s Coffee Corner” on Abergele Road, on March 8.
Previously, Tyler told the Pioneer: “I wanted to do a event like this to bring our community back together, and show that, when we all come together, we can make a difference.
“I found myself needing Mind’s help a lot over the last few years, and they were amazing.
