A VACANT care home could soon be transformed into two houses.
Applicant Mr J. Jones has submitted a planning application to Conwy County Council, seeking to convert Guys Cliff Care Home in Colwyn Bay into two homes.
Mr Jones wants permission for a change of use for the care home at 79-81 Conway Road before renovating both properties’ ground and first floors.
Whilst the care home is still in use as a care home in terms of its use, the building is currently vacant.
The home’s former owner retired and sold the building before Christmas.
The new plans for the building include the renovation of number 81, which would include a new ground floor consisting of a lounge, dining room, study, kitchen, hall, WC, laundry room, dry store, and bathroom.

Number eighty-one’s first floor would have a home office, four bedrooms, and a bathroom.
According to the architect’s drawings, number 79 will have a lounge/dining room, study, hall, breakfast room, kitchen, utility, WC, rear hall, dry store, bedroom, dressing room, and dining room on the ground floor.
The first floor will have four bedrooms, a WC, a box bedroom, and a home office.
The planning application will now be debated by councillors sitting on Conwy County Council’s planning committee.
