RESIDENTS from across North Wales captured some stunning photographs of the Northern Lights over North Wales this week.
The Aurora Borealis are typically best seen in areas with high latitudes and that are closer to the Arctic, such as Iceland and Scandinavia.
But The Met Office confirmed on late Sunday evening that "A coronal hole high-speed stream" would be combined with a "fast coronal mass ejection" allowing the Lights to be seen across the UK.
And residents in North Wales were lucky enough to see the show, with the Northern Lights particularly visible from Anglesey and Gwynedd.
Cheryl Jones from Anglesey took some photographs of the Aurora by Penmon Lighthouse, while Rhyl Journal Camera Club member Mark Pierce captured a stunning picture of the Lights by Lofoten Islands in Norway.
Andy Metcalf got some photographs of the Lights from a cemetery close to where he lives in north Anglesey.
The Lights were also seen in parts of Conwy, with residents on Llandudno's West Shore spotting the phenomenon.
