A FIRE has caused distruption for rail passengers in North Wales this morning.
The line between Chester and Wrexham was blocked this morning following the fire on a train.
Transport for Wales has warned passengers that train services running through these stations may be cancelled, delayed or revised.
North Wales Fire and Rescue were called to the incident at 6.43am.
Four appliances from Wrexham and Deeside attended as well as one appliance from Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service.
A spokesperson for the fire service said: "Crews are working at the scene on a multi-agency basis with partners from North Wales Police, Network Rail, Transport for Wales, Welsh Ambulance Service and British Transport Police.
"There are no reported injuries, and passengers are being cared for by Network Rail and Transport Wales, with arrangements made to escort them from the affected area so they can continue their onward journey.
"Firefighters tackled a fire in the undercarriage of one of the train's carriages, using four sets of breathing apparatus and three hose reel jets to bring it under control.
"The A483 nearby (northbound at Junction 5 near the B&Q roundabout) was closed for a period, and one lane is now open - people are being asked to travel with care."
