THE fundraiser to support a victim of a hit and run and his family has reached an incredible £20,000.
Mark Davies, 48, suffered life-threatening injuries during the incident which happened at 11.30pm on Saturday, January 28; a crash occurred between a black VW Polo and a pedestrian on Crogfryn Lane near Llandudno.
The VW Polo left the scene prior to the arrival of officers.
The long serving member of North Wales Road Running Club and an internationally acclaimed ultra-distance mountain runner remains at Stoke Hospital.
He is due to have an operation on his legs this week.
The fundraising drive was launched by Mark's friend Darrel Lewis.
Master veteran runner Don Hale said: "Mark is self-employed, and Darrel is trying to raise funds for Mark’s wife Leanne and his family.

"Confirmation of Mark’s accident was mentioned at Conwy parkrun last Saturday by North Wales Road Runners Club (NWRRC) official John Hatton. When the announcement was made, John commented 'you could have heard a pin drop'.
"After the event, John noticed about £400 had been donated. Even walkers asked him where they could donate."
Mark won a special achievement award for tackling the daunting Swiss Peaks 360 mountain race last year.
The couple are well-known around Llandudno and surrounding areas; Leanne owns Vintage Kitchen in Colwyn Bay.
A short time after the hit and run, a black Polo was involved in a single-vehicle collision outside Llandudno Magistrates Court on Conway Road whereby the driver left the scene.
A 33-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, failing to stop following a collision and drink driving.
Three other individuals were arrested – a 38-year-old man, 54-year-old man and 64-year-old woman were all arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice.
All four individuals have since been released under the investigation whilst inquiries continue.
