A CAFÉ in Colwyn Bay has re-opened after an act of vandalism last month caused it to temporarily shut its doors.
Station View Café, on Sea View Road, resumed trading today (February 1) after it had been boarded up following the incident, which took place on the evening of January 19.
The owner of the café, located opposite Colwyn Bay’s railway station, said its closed circuit television system (CCTV) showed that a car reversed into the front of the premises.
Police have arrested two people and seized a vehicle following the incident.
The café owner admitted she did not expect to be open for business again as quickly as 13 days after the “devastating” incident.
She said: “It’s fantastic. I’m glad to be back in the community. We had to wait for the suppliers for the windows and the floor, and then get the work done, but we’ve done it all in 13 days.
“We’ve had a lot of friends and customers who have offered help, and who have been so kind.”

The vandalism took out the majority of the café’s new window frames and door, as well as causing great damage to its interior.
It followed the completion of renovation work at the café, which included the addition of new tables.
North Wales Police said today that there are no further updates following the two arrests made.
A police spokesperson said last week: “We were called at 9pm on Thursday (January 19) to report extensive damage to the front of Station View Café on Sea View Road, Colwyn Bay.
“Officers attended the location and after some CCTV enquiries in the area, two people were arrested on suspicion of causing criminal damage and for driving offences.
“One vehicle was also seized. Our investigation into the incident is ongoing.
