THE victim of a 'hit and run' in Llanrhos who remains in critical condition has been named by friends as Mark Davies.
Mark, also known as Dav, suffered life-threatening injuries during an incident at 11.30pm on Saturday, January 28; a crash occurred between a black VW Polo and a pedestrian on Crogfryn Lane near Llandudno.
The VW Polo left the scene prior to the arrival of officers. A short time later a black Polo was involved in a single-vehicle collision outside Llandudno Magistrates Court on Conway Road whereby the driver left the scene.
Mark, 48, was initially taken to Ysbyty Glan Clwyd but has since been transferred to hospital in Stoke where he remains in a critical condition.
Following the incident, a 33-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, failing to stop following a collision and drink driving.
Three other individuals were arrested – a 38-year-old man, 54-year-old man and 64-year-old woman were all arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice.
All four individuals have since been released under the investigation whilst inquiries continue.
A GoFundMe page has been set up by friend Darrel Lewis to help support Mark and his family.
Wording on the GoFundMe states: "Last Saturday night, 28 January, Mark Davies (Dav) was the victim of a hit-and-run accident near his home in Llanrhos, Llandudno. Mark now has life-threatening injuries and is in Stoke hospital.
"With Mark self-employed and unable to work at present, his friends have set up this page to raise some money to help the family.
"Mark and Leanne are both well known around Llandudno and the surrounding areas, and we would be most grateful if anyone who knows them feels able to contribute just something to help take some of the financial pressure off them."
Sergeant Emlyn Hughes, of the Roads Policing Unit, said: “A man is currently in hospital with life threatening injuries as a result of this collision and our thoughts are with him as he receives the urgent treatment he needs.
“The investigation is well underway and I am urging anybody who may have been in the vicinity of Crogfryn Lane on Saturday night and who may have dash cam or CCTV footage to contact us as soon as possible.
“I’m also urging anybody who may have witnessed the second collision outside the Magistrates Court to contact us.”
Anybody with information that could assist with the ongoing investigation is asked to contact officers at the Roads Policing Unit via the live web chat or by calling 101 quoting reference number 23000083668.
