LLANDUDNO Albion FC’s home game against CPD Y Rhyl 1879 later this week has been moved due to ‘ground issues’ at the OPS Wind Arena.
The Ardal North West match was due to take place this Saturday (January 28) at Albion’s OPS Wind Arena home, but has been moved due to ongoing ‘ground issues’.
It will now be played at the ground of opponents CPD Y Rhyl 1879 at 2pm on Saturday.
A CPD Y Rhyl 1879 spokesperson said: “Due to ground issues this Saturday’s away Ardal North West league fixture against Llandudno Albion will now be played at Belle Vue.”
MORE: Llandudno football club faces ‘huge problem’ with home pitch still out of use
The pitch at the OPS Wind Arena has hosted just one game since September after an UEFA inspection deemed a part of the pitch a health and safety risk.
This has forced Llandudno Albion FC and Llandudno FC (who share the stadium) to play all their games away from home, and has left Albion facing a ‘huge problem’ financially and with regards to arranging fixture venues.
Llandudno FC recently stated they were “doing everything in our power” to get the pitch sorted, which is not expected to be remedied until March or April due to the work’s weather dependence.
