A new yellow weather warning across North Wales has been issued by the Met Office.

The warning, for ice, will be in place from 5pm today (Thursday) until 10am on Friday.

A spokesman for the Met Office explained: "Wintry showers will gradually die out through Thursday night and with skies clearing, surfaces are expected to fall below freezing leading to ice developing on untreated surfaces.

"[There is the] potential for ice developing and some challenging travelling conditions on Thursday night and Friday morning."

The warning covers Wrexham, Flintshire, Denbighshire, Gwynedd, Conwy and Anglesey.

In terms of what to expect, the Met Office predicts "some injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces" as well as "some icy patches on some untreated roads, pavements and cycle paths."
