THE family of a 51-year-old woman from Rhos-on-Sea who died following a crash outside Ysbyty Glan Clwyd, Bodelwyddan have paid tribute to her.

Mary Owen-Jones, a hairdresser and teaching assistant, died on January 3, following the incident on January 1.

Her family said: “Mary is survived by her son and daughter, Andrew and Jasmine, her granddaughter, April Rose and her husband, Arwel.

“She had a passion for life and her family and was particularly looking forward to being a grandma to her newly born granddaughter, April Rose.

“She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. We are absolutely heartbroken and would ask to be given the appropriate privacy to allow us time to grieve.”

Mary’s family, who continues to be supported by specialist officers, thanked those who have reached out to them during this difficult time.

Officers are continuing to appeal for witnesses to the collision that happened at about 8.40pm on the hospital grounds between two car parks, near to the main entrance of the hospital.

Anybody who may have witnessed or inadvertently captured the incident on their dash-cam while parked outside the hospital is asked to contact North Wales Police as a matter of urgency on 101, or via the website, quoting reference 23000006433.
