A MEMBER of the Colwyn Bay group of Amnesty International took part in a radio debate on the ethics surrounding the football World Cup in Qatar.
Ewa Turczanska, and other panellists in the BBC Radio Wales programme “All Things Considered”, discussed human rights issues, including migrant workers and the persecution of LGBT supporters and women.
At its monthly meeting, group members took part in Amnesty International’s “Write for Rights” campaign, which involves sending greetings cards to people throughout the world who have been unjustly imprisoned and persecuted.

This year, the focus is on people who have been punished for protesting against injustice.
Past prisoners have spoken of how receiving hundreds of cards from around the world had reassured them they were not being forgotten, and had also served to make their prison governors and staff more careful in their treatment of prisoners.
On December 17, group members and friends will be singing carols at the Victoria Centre, Llandudno, where the public will have a chance to sign cards as part of the campaign.
