BUSINESSES across Colwyn Bay and beyond have teamed up to support children at St Joseph's Primary School hoping to refurbish their library.

Some of the area's favourite hotspots, including Venue Cymru and the Black Cloak Brewery, have donated raffle prizes for the Brackley Avenue school's first Christmas fair in three years.

This will be held on Saturday, December 3 from 11am-3pm.

Funds raised from the fair, which will also feature a visit from Santa himself, as well as craft stalls, Christmas games, festive food, mulled wine and festive cheer, will go towards the school's library redevelopment project and to support the work of St Joseph's Church in the parish.

"We're delighted and grateful for the support we've received from the community," said headteacher James Wilkinson.

"We're really looking forward to welcoming everyone to our fair on December 3. After so long, it's wonderful to be able to open our doors and invite everyone into our school again."

The fair will be opened at 11am by special guest Dame Moly Maypole, from the upcoming Magic Light Productions pantomime, Robin Hood.

Among the raffle prizes on offer are a champagne afternoon tea at Harvey Nichols, a hamper from Bella the Prosecco Van, vouchers from Hickory's Smokehouse, The Entertainer and Blooming Fabulous florists, as well as £100 in cash.

The children are looking forward to a whole new range of books designed around a reading programme helping youngsters read for pleasure and developing crucial life skills for the future.
