ABERCONWY MS Janet Finch-Saunders has praised the staff at Ysgol Bro Gwydir for their “exceptional” work after she visited the school.
During the visit, Mrs Finch-Saunders met with Headteacher Bethan Jones and was introduced to staff and pupils across the site.
Speaking after spending time with pupils and staff, Janet said: “The headteacher should be extremely proud that she and all the team and pupils are living up to the school motto: ‘Gwneud ein gorau glas’ (try your very best).
“In fact, the staff have succeeded to create and exceptional school which is inspiring young people to become responsible citizens.

“What better example of this than the school council who asked me questions such as about public transport, community safety, and finance.
“From the hustle and bustle of Auntie Megan’s kitchen to the quiet sanctuary which pupils can turn to so to unwind in tranquillity, the school is a thriving community which all of us should be proud of.
“I congratulate everyone involved in ensuring that the young people of Llanrwst are given a brilliant educational foundation.”
