AN AUCTION is being held in Rhos-on-Sea aimed at raising funds for two churches in the town.
The charity auction was last held in 2019, and will make its post-Covid 19 return on October 22 at St George’s Church from 11am-1pm.
Organiser Gordon Jones, a long time fundraiser and Prestatyn Running Club member, said the auction “will have something for everyone, from collectables to everyday items”.
Collectable items include a rare, boxed Hornby Flying Scotsman train set, Franklin Mint Rolls-Royce and Harley Davidson models, 1960s comics, a signed Everton FC football, and boxed corgi cars.
Everyday items include furniture, tools, sports and leisure goods, jewellery, toys and games.

Mr Jones, who has raised more than £40,000 for various causes throughout the years, raised more than £1,600 at the last auction.
The proceeds from the auction will go towards the maintenance of the St Trillo’s and St George’s churches in Rhos-on-Sea.
The organiser, who also represented Wales at an international running race in Tenby this year, said: “There are no reserve prices, so we hope people will grab a bargain and have some fun, whilst helping us to raise funds to maintain our beautiful churches.”
There will be a viewing day at St George's Church on Friday, 21 October from 10am-7pm.
