SEVERAL artists are coming together to perform at the Sensational 60s Experience at Llandudno’s Venue Cymru on November 26.
The show will transport its audience back to the magical 1960s, with performers from the time like Mike Pender MBE, The Trems, The Fortunes, and Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick & Tich all taking part.
The evening of nostalgia will be one of special significance for Mike Pender, the long-time vocalist of Merseybeat band The Searchers, who is performing as part of a farewell tour ahead of his retirement later this year.
The Searchers notched up six UK top ten hits with 3 of those reaching number one, with hits including Needles And Pins, Don’t Throw Your Love Away, Sweets For My Sweet, and When You Walk In The Room.
The Trems, former members of The Tremeloes, started out as a beat group founded in Dagenham, Essex in 1958, originally called Brian Poole And The Tremeloes.
The Tremeloes toured the world from 1963 through to 1974, earning a fantastic reputation as one of the finest harmony bands on tour with hits like Even The Bad Times Are Good, Do You Love Me, Call Me Number One and their world-wide number one hit Silence Is Golden.
Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick & Tich were formed in 1961, and in 1966 spent 50 out of 52 weeks in the charts, with hits like Bend It, Zabadak and The Legend Of Xanadu.
The Fortunes hail from Birmingham, and first came to prominence in 1964 with their hit single Caroline, which was used as the signature tune for the influential Pirate Radio Station of the same name.
Their other classics include Storm In A Teacup, You’ve Got Your Troubles, and Freedom Come Freedom Go.
