GCSE pupils at Ysgol Eirias in Colwyn Bay have been praised for outstanding results and the resilience shown throughout the Covid-19 pandemic.
Year 11 learners across the county were lauded by secondary school headteachers for their dedication and determination in light of the unprecedented experiences they have encountered over the past two years.
And at Ysgol Eirias, headteacher Sarah Sutton revealed her pride at the maturity and spirit shown by both students and staff.
"We were delighted with the results of all aspects and subjects, they are testament to the hard work of everyone here at the school," she said.
"Subject areas that stood out in particular this year were Science, PE, French, German and Welsh, Finance, Food Technology, Art and Textiles and History.

"These areas showed an increase or sustained high results for the students. The results for students in A* and A grade were exceptional.

“There were a number of students who also scooped exceptional results, including: Ophelia Boase, Jacob Bullock, Ben Bunn, Seren Clifford, Matthew Costello, Jack Evans, Corin Heavers, Carlos Houghton-Mari, Carys Hughes, Joseph Humberstone, Phoebe innominate, Patrick Lanham-Wright, Emily Lloyd, Omar Matareed, Tyler Miller, Riley Min, Nana Mintah, Isabelle Oliver, Joseph Pollard, Nick Rees, Isabella Roberts, Lois Shepherd, Isabel Thomas, Elin Woodhead, Iola Villamayor and Sam Wong."
Head of Year 11 Dr Rachel Jones added: "We would like to acknowledge how difficult it has been for all of our young people this year and special mention goes to Michelle Flores Gutierrez and Rhys Williams - who were awarded the David Lysak award this year - and Aimee Langton, all of whom have shown strength in the face of adversity.
"We are proud of all of our young people and look forward to supporting them in the next steps, may this be in our sixth forms, at college in an apprenticeship or at work.
"The resilience shown by students and our community is astounding. We are more than proud of our young people, their parents and carers and the staff that have supported them."
