A MAN from Colwyn Bay has received a suspended sentence after pleading guilty to three driving-related offences in Conwy.
Luke Bryan, 31, of Abergele Road, was accused of the following while driving a Vauxhall vehicle on the A470 in the village of Maenan on December 5, 2021:
• Driving with 2.3 micrograms per litre of blood of Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC - the cannabinoid molecule in marijuana).
• Driving with 79 micrograms per litre of blood of Benzoylecgonine (the main metabolite of cocaine).
• Failing, without reasonable excuse, to report a road accident he was involved in, which caused injury to a passenger and which damaged a stone wall belonging to Conwy County Borough Council.
Bryan changed his pleas to guilty for each of the above at Llandudno Magistrates’ Court on August 10.

He was sentenced to 20 weeks’ imprisonment, suspended for 12 months.
Bryan was also disqualified from driving for four years.
The court ordered him to pay a £250 fine and £150 in costs to the Crown Prosecution Service, making a total payment of £400.
Further offences, of failing to stop after the accident, and of failing to give information relating to the driver’s identification in Prestatyn on January 6, were withdrawn.
Bryan had pleaded not guilty to both of these on June 8.
