A Conwy village has been named as one of the poshest in the UK.
Rowen has been named in The Telegraph as the poshest village in Conwy and is one of only five Welsh villages to make the list of the 54 poshest in the UK.
According to estate agents Savills, there has been a 60 per cent rise in demand for rental homes in the most desirable countryside locations during the pandemic.
Research by Savills, provided to The Telegraph, revealed the most desirable villages in the UK, based on the combination of highest house prices, best lifestyle amenities, connectivity and chocolate-box appeal.
And it was Rowen that topped the list for Conwy.
Explaining the decision, the researchers highlighted the village’s riverbanks, farmland and hillside.
They said: “The Vale of Conwy is a lush green interlude between rocky Snowdonia and the open moors of Mynydd Hiraethog .
“Farmland, riverbanks and hillsides are dotted with villages including Rowen; one of the prettiest in Wales.
“There’s a pub, church, shop and post office and singing every Friday night in the Ty Gwyn hotel.”
The average house price in Rowen is £363,214.
The other Welsh villages to make the list were Shirenewton in Monmouthshire, Newgale and Roch in Pembrokeshire, Llanarmon-yn-Iâl in Denbighshire, and Oxwich in Swansea.
