A BOWLS competition will take place in Rhos-on-Sea in support of homeless veterans, and in memory of a late soldier from Penrhyn Bay.
Craig Roberts died while on SAS training in 2013, and this is the seventh such competition one of his closest friends and former schoolmate, Dan Jones, has organised since his passing.
The competition will be held at Rhos Park Bowling Club on Thursday, August 4, starting at 6pm, while John Bailey, of Llanrwst, is one of the players competing.
The event is in aid of “Once We Were Soldiers”, a charity supporting homeless veterans, as chosen by Craig's parents.

This event attracts about 400 people each year, to watch eight of the best bowlers from the UK.
There will be a £3 entry fee, with hot and cold refreshments (including a barbecue), a large raffle, and a £400 prize for the competition winner.
Dan, who attended Ysgol John Bright with Craig, said: “I knew him for about 20 years, since we were about four or five.
“He was just a very nice, lovely lad, who put everything into what he wanted to do in life.”
