Mr Aspin was ordered to avoid alcohol for 90 days, a penalty uplifted from 60 days due to the assault’s “homophobic element”.
He must also undertake a maximum of 10 days’ rehabilitation activity.
The court also ordered Mr Aspin to pay £100 in compensation, £85 in costs to the Crown Prosecution Service, and a £95 victim surcharge.
This amounted to a total of £280, which he is to pay in monthly instalments of £24 from August 5.
