A WOMAN from Rhyl has been banned from the roads and ordered to pay in excess of £350 after she was found guilty of drink-driving in Colwyn Bay.

Chiara Palamieri, 43, of Brighton Road, was accused of driving a Vauxhall Corsa vehicle on Abergele Road on May 2 with 59 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath.

The legal limit in Wales is 35 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath.

She pleaded guilty at Llandudno Magistrates’ Court on June 20.

Palamieri was disqualified from driving for 16 months, and fined £260.

She is also to pay costs of £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service, and a £34 victim surcharge.

This amounted to a total of £379, which she is to pay as a full lump sum within 28 days.
