LLANDUDNO Lifeboat shop volunteers Gill Baggs, Hazel Jowett and Carol Lowndes, as well as Deputy Launching Authority Alun Pari Huws, called on Edith Bellamy on Sunday afternoon (June 12) for a special presentation.
Edith, who was a fundraising volunteer from 1965 to 2020 and whose husband was a crew member from 1955 and coxswain from 1961 to 1970, celebrated her 100th birthday in December 2021.

Along with a letter of congratulation from Jane George, director of fundraising and marketing, Edith is seen being presented with a special 50-year service medal at the home where she now resides.
Catherine Tudor Jones, community manager for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI)’s Wales and West region, said: “Edith is clearly a remarkable lady who has given outstanding service to the RNLI locally in Llandudno over many years.
“Even more remarkable is that she was still volunteering in the RNLI's shop locally at the age of 98.
“We wish her well in her continuing retirement.”
