LLANDUDNO Rotary Club hosted speakers from around the world after establishing a partnership with a Texan rotary club to help Ukrainian refugees.

The event, held at the Maesdu Golf Club in Llandudno, saw Councillor Harry Saville, who has just finished his stint as Mayor of Llandudno, and Rotary Club of Friendswood (Houston, Texas) member Meredith Levine.

A Llandudno Rotary Club spokesperson said: “Friendswood Rotary is anxious to help Ukrainian refugees and feels they can best do that by teaming up with a UK Rotary Club to help fund any initiatives they are undertaking – we are honoured that they chose Llandudno to work with.

“A joint Zoom working party between Llandudno and Friendswood Rotary Clubs is “on the case” and will be reporting shortly on what initiatives they have identified that can play a meaningful part in helping the plight of those valiant Ukrainian refugees who arrive within the Conwy County Borough area.
