THE VICTORIA Shopping Centre in Llandudno has said its toilets will re-open “as soon as practicable” following refurbishment after concerns were raised by a “dismayed” visitor.
An elderly resident, who asked not to be identified, visited the centre, on Mostyn Street, last week to find its toilets remained out of use, having been so since during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The resident said: “I was dismayed on visiting the Victoria arcade to find the toilets still closed since the COVID-19 lockdown.
“Does anyone know the reason for this and is anything being done to rectify the situation?
“We bottled it until we got to M&S (in Parc Llandudno retail park); there was a huge queue at the ones in the centre near the roundabout.
“It’s tough on us old ducks, who need handy bogs.”
The resident added that they visit the centre “once every other month” to go to the centre’s Specsavers store.

In response to this, a spokesperson for the shopping centre said: “We would like to confirm that the toilets are currently closed due to them undergoing a full refurbishment and will opened as soon as practicable.
“There are council public toilets located at the side street by the town hall, and also by North Western Gardens, all fully operational.”
