A MAN from Abergele has received a prison sentence after he was found guilty of stalking a woman in Colwyn Bay who he then also assaulted.

Danny Shacklady, 31, of Marine Road, was accused of the following:

• Making 237 phone calls to Jessica Murdoch in Colwyn Bay between December 20, 2021 and January 18, 2022.

• Committing common assault against Murdoch in Denbigh on May 25.

Mr Shacklady changed his plea to guilty for the former, and pleaded guilty to the latter, at Llandudno Magistrates’ Court on May 27.

Rhyl man tagged and given suspended sentence after breaching restraining order

He is to serve two months’ imprisonment for the former and three months in prison for the latter as part of a six-month custodial period.

This was due to his unprovoked attack of a serious nature while children were present, his threats to kill, and the fact that a weapon was used and that it was committed while he was subject to a suspended sentence order.

Mr Shacklady must also not contact Murdoch directly or indirectly unless via social services, solicitors or order of the family court for the purpose of child contact.

He must also not enter Denbigh, as defined by the 30mph speed limit signs, until a further order is made.
