A ROYAL Marines veteran from Old Colwyn will be reuniting with his old unit colleagues to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the Falklands War.
Derek Harvey, an ex-Royal Marine Commando of 45 Commando Group, travelled by sea for three weeks in 1982 before landing on the Falklands on May 21.
Mr Harvey said: “In June, we will be marking the 40th Anniversary of the Falklands Conflict by having a reunion.
“To help celebrate this, I have made a cake 5ft x 3ft, for 500 members at the Reunion for this occasion.
“I will be travelling up to Arbroath late on the 9th June. I also have help to move the cake into the car – it weighs about 80kg!”
