PROACTIVE patrols have again been carried out in the last 24 hours in the Rhos-on-Sea area by both Neighbourhood Policing Team officers and their colleagues on the Response team.

This has resulted in a number of people having been stopped and spoken to about their behaviour and the people they are associating with, and a total of seven stop-and-searches were carried out.

A number of youths have been referred to Youth Justice in relation to lower-level anti-social behaviour which was observed by officers, to look into carrying out intervention work with them to prevent further poor behaviour.

Officers have also been carrying overnight checks in relation to a number of youths who are currently subject to curfew conditions following recent arrests made.

Investigations are ongoing in relation to these offences, which include the fire at Colwyn Bay Cricket Club, and the bail conditions in place for these youths will be monitored and enforced.

NWP (North Wales Police) Conwy Coastal said: “We are, as ever, grateful for the support and assistance of the local community while we work with our partners in Youth Justice, Conwy County Borough Council and local housing associations in trying to resolve the issues created by this small minority of the community who seem intent on engaging in criminal acts.”
