A MAN from Llanrwst has been handed a ban, unpaid work and costs after he was found guilty of driving in Conwy while more than three times above the legal alcohol limit.
James Clift, 35, of Maes Myrddin, was accused of driving a Toyota vehicle on the A470 in Eglwysbach on March 12 with 281 milligrams of alcohol per 100 millilitres of blood.
The legal limit is 80 milligrams of alcohol per 100 millilitres of blood.
Mr Clift pleaded guilty at Llandudno Magistrates’ Court on May 13.

He was handed a 32-month disqualification period from driving, which will be reduced by 32 weeks should he complete an obligatory course by April 2, 2024.
Mr Clift is also to undergo six months’ alcohol treatment, 200 hours of unpaid work and a maximum of six days’ rehabilitation activity.
He must also pay a £95 victim surcharge and £85 in costs to the Crown Prosecution Service.
