THE creator of Llandudno’s Prom Ally CIC initiative has received a Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award at a ceremony at Buckingham Palace.
Ally Elouise, who started the Prom Ally venture in 2015, was selected to speak to HRH Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex at the event in which she received a Gold award, delayed by three years due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Prom Ally offers the free loan of prom dresses and suits to school children, sixth form students and college students who otherwise cannot afford one.

All outfits are used and either purchased from charity shops or donated directly.
The scheme is linked with schools, social services, food banks and charities around the UK and runs mostly on a referral basis, which is crucial to even more people given the current cost-of-living crisis.
Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson and TV chef Matt Tebbutt were among the guests giving talks to the recipients.
