A 20-week arts project is underway in Conwy in an effort for greater inclusivity within the arts, which will end with an exhibition of the work created.
The Royal Cambrian Academy of Art in Conwy have teamed up with Conwy Connect and Disability Arts Cymru in an effort to break down barriers to those with disabilities that wish to enter the arts.
The project is being lead by six artists from the region, some of whom are members of Disability Arts Cymru and Conwy Connect, which both support adults with learning difficulties and advocate for greater inclusivity in the field.

Participants will explore the therapeutic qualities of art by experimenting with mark making, painting, sculpture, ceramics and cyanotype, culminating in an exhibition of the work created at the gallery in November 2022.
The project has been made possible by funding from Gwynt Y Mor wind farm.
Nadine Carter-Smith, Learning Co-ordinator at the Royal Cambrian Academy of Art, said: “I created this project three years ago as I feel strongly about making art accessible to everyone.

“At the Royal Cambrian Academy, we are always trying to break down the barriers which are often found within the arts.
“This project is a perfect example of doing just that, reaching a wider audience, sharing and engaging in our varied exhibitions, providing workshops with professional artists which allow expression and demonstrate the benefits of art to our wellbeing."
The project started in April, and will run until October.
