A MAN from Colwyn Bay is to face a suspended sentence, fine and unpaid work after he was found guilty of assault by beating in Rhyl.
Mihail Dumitrascu, 24, of Llys Colwyn, Old Colwyn, was accused of assaulting Gareth Culley in the town on August 28, 2021.
He was found guilty at Llandudno Magistrates’ Court on May 6, having pleaded not guilty on March 9.

Mr Dumitrascu received a 26-week prison sentence, suspended for 12 months due to him currently being in employment and his limited previous convictions.
He is also to undertake 140 hours of unpaid work, and the court ordered that he have a metal bar and knife belonging to him confiscated.
He has also been ordered to pay £300 in compensation, and £600 in costs to the Crown Prosecution Service, to be paid in monthly, £60 instalments from May 26.
This amounted to a total payment of £900.
