COLEG LLANDRILLO Travel & Tourism students have received job offers from multiple renowned airlines, trave agencies and summer camps in the United States.
Following two years of relative inactivity, uncertainty, and virtual lockdown, the tourism industry is quickly making a return with students finally able to progress into the business.
Llandrillo Tutor Sonia McClave said: “For many students, these have been their dream jobs since joining the college.
“Despite being unable to participate in the usual trips during the pandemic, our focus on bringing aviation to life in the classroom and preparing for employment remained strong.

“This is an exciting time for travel-related industries and we are thrilled to see so many students commence their chosen career paths, both in their local communities and across the world!”
As lockdown lifted, airlines slowly began recruiting again through assessment days.
Students who finished their courses during the pandemic were finally able to put their skills and knowledge to the test at these events and got an overview of the companies and the industry as a whole, along with information on the wide range of roles available including cabin crew and ground staff.
Those assessment days resulted in ex-Coleg Llandrillo students receiving job offers from Jet 2, TUI, Ryanair and Virgin Atlantic, while the college’s current crop of students also await new careers with British Airways, Ryanair and Titan Airways.

Ms McClave added: “Proof that tourism continues to grow didn't stop there: other students who studied at the college during the pandemic are enjoying the first year of their careers with well-renowned travel agencies including Hays Travel and Polka Dot.
“It is great to have such strong links the industry. These are fabulous opportunities for the students and I hope they grab them with both hands.”
Former student Louise Wilkinson, 20, from Colwyn Bay, who is now an apprentice travel agent at Hays Travel, said: “I really enjoyed my time studying Travel & Tourism at Llandrillo.
“Receiving insider knowledge from my tutors, along with the units I completed, has given me the skills and knowledge to do what I do today.
“Completing the travel agency unit helped me massively, giving me the confidence to go for my dream career."
