A RETAIL assistant whose body was recovered from the sea in Llandudno had suffered head injuries, it was revealed at the opening of an inquest.
On April 24, a member of the public spotted the body of 42-year-old Gareth James Stevenson, of Mostyn Avenue, about 20 metres offshore and a helicopter crew recovered it.

At a hearing in Ruthin, John Gittins, senior coroner for North Wales East and Central, said that pathologist Dr Mohammad Aslam had given a provisional cause of death as head injuries.
Adjourning the inquest to a date to be fixed, he said: “The circumstances clearly indicate a potentially unnatural death, whether deliberate or accidental, and will require further investigation.”
