IT’S set to be a fun-filled bank holiday weekend in Llandudno, as the town’s Victorian Extravaganza and Transport Festival return from April 30 – May 2.

Nearly in its 30th year, the Llandudno Transport Festival, at Bodafon Fields, will showcase a wide array of exhibitions including of lorries, tractors and motorbikes for visitors to immerse themselves in.

The Victorian Extravaganza, which fills up the town’s main roads simultaneously, includes street entertainers, stalls, full-size live steam traction engines, shop window displays and more.

There will also be a parade at 12pm on each day of the event, while it was announced today (April 26) that the “Old Time Sailors” band will be playing on Monday, May 2 at the community stage at 1pm and 3pm.

This will be the first time the extravaganza has gone ahead since 2019 due to the restrictions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The two events will be connected via a free “hop on, hop off” bus service between the pair of them throughout the weekend.

A free shuttle bus will pick up and drop off from Vaughan Street, Llandudno.

At the Transport Festival, the gates open each day at 9am until late on Saturday and Sunday, and until 5pm on Monday, with the bus service running all day from 10am.

The Victorian Extravaganza is free to attend, while admission to the Transport Festival costs £7.50 for adults, £2 for children, and £2.50 for car parking.

At the Victorian Extravaganza, meanwhile, you can also buy a £15 ticket per person to “The Magic Bar Live”, which promises to bring you “an immersive evening of Victorian Spiritualism”.
