A MAN has been charged with arson with intent to endanger life following a house fire in Llandudno last week.

North Wales Police (NWP) and North Wales Fire and Rescue Service (NWFRS) were called to reports of a fire on Ffordd Dewi just after 10pm on Thursday, March 24.

NWFRS reported extensive heat and smoke damage to the kitchen and dining area, along with further fire damage on the ground floor and first floor of the semi-detached property.

NWP have now confirmed a man, 40, has been charged and will appear before Llandudno Magistrates’ Court.

Two arrests were made following the fire.

NWP West Conwy Coastal said: “At 10pm on Thursday, March 24, a suspected arson offence occurred at an address on Ffordd Dewi, Llandudno.

“Following the swift actions at the scene by members of the public, NWFRS, and attending officers, no one was harmed during the incident.

“However, one property was subject to extensive fire damage.

“A 40-year-old male has been charged with arson with intent to endanger life and will be remanded to appear before Llandudno Magistrates Court.

“North Wales Police would like to reassure the public that this appears to be an isolated incident and we are not seeking any other persons in relation to this crime.

“We would like to thank the public and witnesses in this case for their assistance in the swift apprehension of the suspect.”
