COLWYN Bay Football Club has appealed for donations for it to then send to help those currently suffering in Ukraine.
The club has asked for numerous products, such as tinned foods, toys and nappies, to be left at its clubhouse, which will be used as a “drop-off centre”.
This follows Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, which began on February 24 and has since seen attacks in numerous cities, leaving many civilians killed or injured, while it is estimated that more than half a million have fled their homes.
A statement from the club read: “We will be using the clubhouse at Colwyn Bay Football Club as a drop-off centre for aid to be sent to Ukraine.
“If you’ve any spare clothes, blankets, sleeping bags, sanitary items, nappies, tinned foods, and maybe the odd little toy that might cheer up a child who has just been thrust into turmoil.
“It would be a massive help if you could mark the box/bag with what age/gender the items are for.”
Based at Four Crosses Construction Arena, Llanelian Road, Old Colwyn, the clubhouse is open from 6pm until 9pm on Mondays and Wednesdays, and 9am to 12pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
