APPLICATIONS have opened for this year’s edition of the Wales in Bloom competition, while Prestatyn and Denbigh are among the finalists for Britain in Bloom awards.
Wales in Bloom is a national campaign set up to embrace the country's beauty and promote environmentally friendly practices.
The winners of Wales in Bloom are often nominated for Britain in Bloom, and join finalists from other communities across the country.
Deadline for all entries is March 31 via: www.walesinbloom.org.
A press statement said: “We’re excited to be running Wales in Bloom 2022.
“We were the only region/nation to have run our campaign in person last year whilst following government guidelines, and the only one to hold our annual award ceremony in person, and this year, we’re doing it all again.
“Main campaign categories that are judged are listed here: www.walesinbloom.org/categories.html (entry fee payable).
“Or, groups can enter the RHS (Royal Horticultural Society) “It’s Your Neighbourhood” award – non-competitive, and they will be “assessed” and receive a certificate of achievement – free to enter.
“All judging and assessing takes place during the first three weeks of July.
“Our annual award ceremony is scheduled to take place in early September in Talgarth, where all entrants will receive their certificates and the category winners will also be announced.”
Any Wales in Bloom enquires should be emailed to campaign@walesinbloom.org.
Meanwhile “Denbigh in Bloom” and “Prestatyn in Bloom” have been nominated for the “town” and “large town” Britain in Bloom awards respectively for Wales in 2022.
